Review the 48.3 mm route
Use the actual approved dimensional and component requirements.
Check scaffold compatibility using the exact tube condition and coupler maker/model, with the manufacturer’s applicable requirements and project approval. A nominal diameter match is only one input; it does not establish grip, slip resistance or structural acceptance.
The tool compares entered dimensions only. It supplies no universal coupler range, installation torque, strength class or compatibility certificate.
Dimension review
Enter the manufacturer-documented absolute OD range and measured coated OD in mm, with applicable expanded uncertainty. This comparison cannot approve compatibility. If the manufacturer supplies no applicable range, obtain its guidance instead of inventing limits.
No review prepared.
Enquiry builder
Capture the decisions below, prepare a review summary and copy it to the scaffolding tube RFQ. Obtain all manufacturer and project component requirements; a contained OD result is not compatibility approval.
Complete the specification to prepare a review summary.
Obtain all manufacturer and project component requirements; a contained OD result is not compatibility approval.
Method
Compare the actual measured coated OD with the documented lower and upper diameter bounds: L ≤ m ≤ H. Also review the interval m ± entered expanded uncertainty against those bounds. Use the actual tube and permitted coating/condition, not a nominal inch label or an assumed diameter range.
Review the exact coupler maker/model, type/class, permitted tube grade and wall, surface condition, installation instructions and project design basis. Obtain manufacturer evidence for any component combination or change. This tool supplies no tightening torque, slip resistance, stiffness, load capacity or acceptance class. Zero uncertainty is a numerical assumption, not proof of uncertainty-free measurement.
Worked example
Assume a manufacturer explicitly documents an illustrative OD range of 48.0–49.0 mm for a particular product and condition. A reading of 48.5 mm with expanded uncertainty 0.1 mm gives 48.4–48.6 mm, contained within the entered range. A reading of 48.95 mm with uncertainty 0.1 mm gives 48.85–49.05 mm and overlaps the upper bound.
Those invented limits are not a coupler specification or a standard tolerance. Even the contained result does not establish grip or structural capacity. If grade, wall, coating, class or instructions remain unresolved, obtain the exact manufacturer/project acceptance before use.
Acceptance basis
The tool compares entered dimensions only. It supplies no universal coupler range, installation torque, strength class or compatibility certificate.
| Specification decision | Applicability and limit | Evidence to request | RFQ action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product identity | Coupler type/class and exact model matter. | Manufacturer record and approved product schedule. | Identify both connected products. |
| Tube conditions | Grade, wall, coating and damage need applicable acceptance. | Permitted conditions and current inspection. | Check the actual supplied tube. |
| Dimensional comparison | Entered range inclusion is not connection testing. | Documented range, measurement and decision rule. | Refer overlap and unresolved conditions for review. |
| Installation/design | A fit check does not supply structural performance. | Applicable installation instructions and approved design. | Obtain the responsible component release. |
Documentation
Check the actual evidence for both products and confirm the current tube/coupler condition. Record any uncertainty in dimensions or permitted surfaces. Do not force, modify or accept a component combination from a nominal-size comparison alone.
| Control | What to examine | When and limits | Next action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Product identity | Manufacturer record and approved product schedule. | Before material acceptance; confirm feasibility and cost at quotation. | Identify both connected products. |
| Tube conditions | Permitted conditions and current inspection. | Before material acceptance; confirm feasibility and cost at quotation. | Check the actual supplied tube. |
| Dimensional comparison | Documented range, measurement and decision rule. | Before material acceptance; confirm feasibility and cost at quotation. | Refer overlap and unresolved conditions for review. |
| Heat and item identity | Applicable mill records linked to heat/batch markings and packing list. | Before release and again on receipt; a sample certificate is not evidence for the shipped heat. | Request traceability through cutting, bundling and delivery. |
Route selection
| Decision | Why it matters here | Before you enquire |
|---|---|---|
| Nominal size matches | A label does not establish the whole connection. | Review actual coated dimensions and all permitted conditions. |
| Different maker proposed | Interface evidence needs the exact products. | Obtain manufacturer/project acceptance of the combination. |
| Instructions missing | No torque or fitting range should be guessed. | Request the applicable documentation. |
