Pipe route matched to pressure and schedule
Seamless, ERW, welded, LSAW and line pipe each suit a different service. Choose the route that matches pressure, temperature and schedule — availability is confirmed against your specification, not from a standing catalogue.

The right route for pressure, temperature and cost
Seamless for pressure, ERW for line, LSAW for heavy-wall transmission.

Build Your Specification
Build a complete steel-pipe specification
Select pipe type, material, grade, standard, size and quantity. The builder assembles a full specification you can copy, review, or submit for quotation.
The builder is a first-pass guide, not a catalogue. Noor Deira Steel reviews every specification by hand and confirms grade availability, pressure rating and delivery. Pricing is always on request — request a quotation to receive a confirmed offer.
Grades, Standards, Sizes & Tolerances
Size and schedule you can plan procurement against
NPS, outside diameter and schedule tie directly to the governing standard. The reference below helps you frame a specification before Noor Deira Steel confirms the exact grade and wall against your order.
| NPS | OD | Schedule | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1/2" | 21.3 mm | Sch 40 / 80 | Instrumentation and utility lines |
| 2" | 60.3 mm | Sch 40 / 80 | Process and distribution piping |
| 4" | 114.3 mm | Sch 40 / 80 | Transfer lines and manifolds |
| 10" | 273.1 mm | Sch 20 / 40 / STD | Main process and transmission lines |
| 20" | 508.0 mm | Sch 20 / 40 | Long-run transmission and trunk lines |

Quality, Testing & Documentation
MTC-backed, traceable and documented
Every pipe we quote is supported by a mill test certificate and the test documents your specification requires. We reconcile the MTC against your order before it ships.
Mill test certificates (MTC) matched to the lot.
Mill test certificates
Chemical and mechanical results verified against the governing standard.
Mechanical testing
Tensile, yield, elongation and hardness per pipe grade.
Hydraulic & NDT
Pressure test and non-destructive testing where specified.
Source traceability
Heat number, lot and mill identification retained end-to-end.
Procurement Insight
Why schedule — not diameter — governs pressure rating
A common procurement error is to specify a pipe by outside diameter alone. For a given NPS, the OD is fixed by the standard — what changes the pressure rating is the wall thickness, expressed as the schedule. Two lengths of 10-inch pipe share the same 273.1 mm OD; a Sch 40 wall and a Sch 80 wall differ by more than 48% in wall thickness, and so in allowable pressure.
| 10" NPS (273.1 mm OD) | Wall | Est. unit weight |
|---|---|---|
| Sch 20 | 6.35 mm | ≈ 41.8 kg/m |
| Sch 40 / STD | 9.27 mm | ≈ 60.3 kg/m |
| Sch 80 / XS | 12.70 mm | ≈ 81.5 kg/m |
Unit weight ≈ 0.02466 × wall × (OD − wall), with wall and OD in millimetres. Weight per metre rises steeply with wall, which is why specifying schedule up front protects both the pressure rating and the landed cost. Frequently Asked Questions
Steel pipe, answered for buyers
Direct answers to the questions procurement teams ask most about steel pipe.
What steel pipes can Noor Deira Steel supply?
Seamless, ERW, welded, LSAW and line pipes in galvanized, carbon and stainless steel. Availability is confirmed against your specification, not from a standing catalogue.
What is the difference between a pipe and a tube?
Pipes are specified by nominal pipe size (NPS) and schedule (wall), and are used to convey fluids. Tubes are specified by outside diameter and wall thickness with tighter tolerance, for mechanical and structural service. The distinction is specification intent, not just size.
What are NPS, OD and schedule?
NPS is the nominal pipe size, a notional reference that determines the actual outside diameter (OD). Schedule (Sch) defines the wall thickness and therefore the pressure rating. For example, 10-inch NPS pipe is 273.1 mm OD, with wall set by Sch 20/40/STD.
Which grade do I specify for high-temperature or line service?
ASTM A106 Gr. B/C serves high-temperature process service; API 5L Gr. B/X42/X52/X60 serves oil, gas and product transmission. Confirm the governing standard and grade together — a grade is only meaningful under its standard.
What is the difference between seamless and welded pipe?
Seamless is preferred for pressure and elevated-temperature service where a uniform wall and no weld seam are required. Welded (ERW and LSAW) is economical for line and structural work. Confirm the service pressure, temperature and code, then select the route.
What information do I need to request a steel pipe quotation?
Pipe type and material, grade, standard, NPS or diameter, schedule or wall thickness, length, quantity, documents, application, destination and Incoterm. The Specification Builder collects these fields and hands them to our commercial department.
Does Noor Deira Steel supply steel pipe across the GCC?
Yes — Noor Deira Steel coordinates steel pipe supply to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain, with Incoterms, bundling and destination documents agreed per order. Lead time is confirmed at quotation stage.
